Tasted at The Ledbury for lunch. This seems quite mature for a 1994 even taken into account the mediocrity of the growing season. A meaty, loose-knit, quite animally nose, quite irony and rather depleted in terms of Bonnes-Mares usual vivacity. But the medium-bodied palate has a fine structured, gains weight with aeration with hints of sour cherry and wild strawberry, perhaps lacking just a little cohesion towards the finish. Pleasant, but ineluctably rustic. Drink now. Tasted March 2009. (Neal Martin, The Wine advocate, 30th Sep 2009, 87 Pts)
