Nose is closed at this juncture but on the palate there are layers of sweet redcurrants and raspberry, well knit tannins, good weight and a huge grip. Very long, intense, serious wine with an decadent, some say perhaps too powerful finish? Wonderful. Tasted July 1999. (Neal Martin, The Wine advocate, 1st Jan 2000, WA92-94 Pts)
