The 2015 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru offers up aromas of creamy blackberry, cassis and cherry, framed by a rich overlay of spicy, toasty new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with good acidity and lots of firm tannic structure, but stylistically heavy handed and brutish. This is a creditable enough example of oaky Pinot Noir, and I've scored it as such, but for now there's little to identify it as Clos de Vougeot.
