The natural rich cherry wood colour of this whisky, fruity in character, indicates maturation in a first fill sherry cask. The nose and taste are full of orange and tropical fruits with a mix of wood and resiny spices. The finish has a late hint of peat. One of only two butts selected as the best current expressions of this year, cask 1250, filled on the 19th September 1952, was bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration. This whisky derives all of its colour naturally from 49 years in the cask.
