The natural rich rosewood colour of this whisky, vibrant in character, indicates maturation in a first fill sherry cask. The nose is reminiscent of parma violet sweets, with a fruity, oily taste balanced by a malty cereal note. One of only two butts selected as the best current expressions of this year, cask 7556, filled on the 24 th September 1971, was bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration. This whisky derives all of its colour naturally from 30 years in the cask.
