The natural rich beech colour of this whisky, inviting in character, indicates maturation in a second fill sherry cask. The nose is of peat balanced by citrus fruit, chocolate orange with vanilla and oak notes in the background. The taste is of light fruits, bitter chocolate and wood spice, with a touch of peat, while the finish brings out lingering fruits and peat smoke. This 1947 distillation was originally bottled in 1962, as a 15 year old. It was then carefully re-bottled by hand in 2008 to grace this collection of Fine & Rare Macallan.
